On March 5, Emmanuel Macron addressed the nation, calling Russia a “threat to France and Europe.” He did not rule out the deployment of European troops in Ukraine and began discussing the possibility of using France’s nuclear weapons to defend the entire EU. The Elysee Palace confirmed the visit of Macron, Starmer and Zelensky to the United States to present a peace plan for Ukraine to US President Donald Trump. Macron said it was important to recognize the “Russian threat,” and next week France will gather the chiefs of staff of the countries to discuss the future of peace in Ukraine and strengthening defense capabilities in Europe.
