The Al-Hadba Minaret is one of the most prominent archaeological landmarks in the city of Mosul, which was blown up by ISIS during the battle to retake the city from the Islamic State (ISIS) on June 2017. UNESCO rebuilt the minaret which dates from the 12th century, using its old stones collected after the liberation, with a length of about 51 meters, as it was before, as part of the "Revive the Spirit of Mosul" initiative, which includes the Al-Nuri Mosque, the Al-Hadba Minaret, Our Lady of the Hour Church, and the Great Immaculate church (Al-Tahera).
