Polio is a virus that may cause paralysis and is easily preventable through polio vaccine. The virus is easily transmitted through fecal-oral route, contaminated water, Food or body contact with an infected person including respiratory droplets that could lead to a fatal paralysis if no quick medical diagnosis is taken. It mostly affects kids under 5 years of age but anyone of age who is not vaccinated can contact the diseases. The Kenya Paediatric Association (KPA), a non-profit professional organization including pediatricians, clinicians and local community Health Workers unite in a mission to ensure the health and wellbeing of Kenyan children in Kibera Slums through home visits and walking around different streets of the communities.
