Monks Resume Alms-Giving After Floods, Amidst Mud, Trash, and Dust in Chiang Mai, Thailand by Pongmanat Tasiri / SOPA Images
After the flood situation in Chiang Mai subsided, monks from various local temples resumed their alms-giving as usual amidst a city filled with piles of trash from flood-damaged items, mud, and dust from sediment left behind by the receding waters. Although government authorities and residents have begun cleaning the area and removing debris, many spots are still covered with accumulated mud and dust. It is expected to take several weeks for the situation to return to normal.
