The Australian Libertarian Party held a public rally at Flagstaff Gardens espousing party policy; particularly opposition to the federal government's proposed Communications Legislation Amendment (Combatting Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill 2024, and the state of Victoria's proposed changes to anti-vilification laws.
Speakers included Libertarian Party member Chris Needham, state MP for the Southeastern Metro David Limbrick, federal Senate candidate for Eastern Victoria convicted in 2016 of defrauding travel agency customers for the amount of $277,993 Jordan Dittloff, Pauline Hanson’s One Nation party state president of Victoria and candidate for Eastern Victoria Warren Pickering, anti-transgender activist Mel Jeffries, former Victoria Police Senior Sergeant stood down for refusing vaccination against COVID-19 Krystal Mitchell, and co-founder and director of Free Speech Union of Australia Dr. Reuben Kirkham.
