The Western Wall, also known as the Wailing Wall in the West and Al Buraq Wall in Islam, is a pilgrimage destination for Jewish believers. Located in the Old city of Jerusalem, it is a portion of the Temple Mount retaining wall. A metal partition split the area in two: men on the left and women on the right. All along the day, Jews believers visit the site to pray, to read the sacred books of the Torah, and to leave paper note inside the wall’s cracks. The whole area is surveilled by Israeli soldiers.
