The 75th summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was held in the capital of the United States of America, Washington. This is an annual event where leaders of the alliance member countries gather to discuss current issues of security and cooperation. NATO considers “Russia’s victory in Ukraine” its biggest risk the outcome of this conflict will determine the global security system for decades, Jens Stoltenberg said. While current US President Joe Biden noted “Putin wants nothing less than the complete destruction of Ukraine, its subjugation, he wants to end democracy in Ukraine, destroy Ukrainian culture and erase Ukraine from the world map. And we know that Putin will not stop at Ukraine. But make no mistake, Ukraine can and will stop Putin. Especially with our full, collective support.” Following the meeting, important decisions will be made and further directions for the alliance’s work will be determined.
