On April 12, Karen KNLA and PDF forces raided the army's 275th military garrison in Myawady town, and more than 100 soldiers fled under Friendship Bridge No. 2. The KNLA/PDF joint forces attacked those soldiers on the night of April 19th. According to local residents, there were no less than 40 bombs in the military council's air response. As a result of the fighting, about 2,000 people fled to Mae Sot, Thailand, across the Moei (Thaung Yin) River.
