Palestine Action protesters crash cars outside Israeli drone factory in UK by Martin Pope / SOPA Images
Two activists from Palestine Action drive two cars into bollards at Elbit’s factory gates and locked themselves to the steering wheels with a D-lock around their necks to prevent workers entering the site. The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Tactical System (UTACS) factory is owned by Israeli arms company Elbit Systems. It is one of seven establishments Elbit has in the UK producing arms and drones for the Israelis. Persistent direct action from Palestine Action has caused Elbit to close three businesses in the UK in the last three years and they say they will not stop targeting Elbit and their subsidiary and partner companies until they leave the UK for good. Protesters argue the weapons Elbit Systems produces are being used to terrorize and kill Palestinians in Gaza and elsewhere.
