Dicle Muftuoglu who won the Free Press Unlimited's “Most Resilient Journalist Award” in the Netherlands in November last year, but could not receive the award because she was in prison, received her award when she was released. Journalist Muftuoglu, who was held in prison for 10 months on the grounds that she was a member of the armed Kurdish organization Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), was released last week. The majority of the members of the Dicle Firat Journalists Association consist of Kurdish and opposition-government journalists.
