Thailand is one of the world's biggest polluters. Out of the 8 million tons of waste the country generates, only 25% is recycled, and over 50,000 tons end up in the ocean every year. However, the Thai Government implemented a plan to ban all plastic imports by 2025, which has already resulted in a decrease in imported plastic into the Kingdom, which imported 180,000 tons in 2022.
