The Pottery village named Chaltaberia, around 40km outskirts of Kolkata in West Bengal is in full rhythm of earthen lamp and idol production ahead of the grand Diwali festival in India. Earthen lamps sold in all over Indian cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Gujarat, Assam, Patna, and Rajasthan, especially during festival season. Even earthen lamps are being exported to outside of India ahead of Diwali celebrations. Diwali is a celebration of the day Lord Ram returned to his kingdom in Ayodhya with his wife Sita and his brother Lakshmana after defeating the demon Ravana in Lanka and serving 14 years of exile as per Hindu mythology.
