Local firefighters patrolling in the old town, Medina, a famous tourists’ sight after Marrakesh earthquake happened last Friday. Signs of damage are still prominent and rubble are still not clear from the area. Many local once feared the narrow alleys would result in mass casualties if the building collapsed, however tourists have returned and flocked to the once-quiet old town. The epicentre of the magnitude 7.2 quake struck in the high Atlas mountain, some 72 km southwest of Marrakesh. Almost 3,000 people are reported to have died in the earthquake.
