The Dodentocht ("Death March") is a long-distance march of 100 kilometers organized annually in Bornem, Belgium. Participants have 24 hours to finish. It began in 1970 with 65 participants and has since grown into an event with over 13,000 hikers from many countries. A total of 8,122 walkers finished out of 11,613 participants, the organization reports.
