Gajan is a Hindu festival celebrated mostly in the rural part of West Bengal. The festival is related to Lord Shiva. As per Mythology, on the last day of the Bengali Calendar (Middle of April), devotees used to worship dead bodies to satisfy Lord Shiva for better rain and harvest per 100-year-old Traditional practices. The central theme of this festival is deriving satisfaction through non-sexual pain, devotion, and sacrifice.
