Car owners in San Francisco are on high alert following a surge in car window theft in the city. Thieves have been breaking into parked cars and stealing valuable items, leaving car owners frustrated and worried about their safety. According to San Francisco Police Department (SFPD), the number of car window thefts has risen sharply in recent months. In February alone, there were 423 reported cases of car break-ins, which is a significant increase from the 272 cases reported in the same month last year. Thieves are targeting vehicles parked in popular tourist areas such as Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate Park, and Union Square. However, car break-ins have also been reported in residential neighborhoods across the city. The thieves are not discriminating against any specific type of car, as they have been targeting vehicles of all makes and models. They are breaking into cars, often in broad daylight, and stealing anything of value, including laptops, phones, and other electronic devices.
