A group of environmental and labour rights activists converged to protest against government inaction on the closure of the polluting cement plant that has a history of violations and no current license to operate. This was one of the first approved protests since COVID-19 social distancing measures were eased in Hong Kong and could mark the return of the city's active social movements.
