Several climate organizations and the UVA University Rebellion organized a demonstration at the University of Amsterdam (Universiteit van Amsterdam, UVA), to call the university to cut ties with the oil company Shell. Students and climate activists gathered on one of the bridges of the university and from there they walked to the main building. There while speeches were given, some of the students occupied a part of the building as an unannounced action. According to the activists Shell and the fossil fuel industry are some of the main drivers causing the climate and ecological crisis, and for that the students and activists said that they will not leave the building until the collaboration between the University and Shell ends.
