Narali Poornima (coconut day) is observed by Hindu fishing community in coastal region of Maharashtra by offering coconut to the ocean and praying to the ocean for a safe fishing season. Singing and dancing is the main attraction during the celebration along with preparation of sweet coconut rice on the day.
