Only a week to Christmas, the century-old St Lukas Church at Dalgate in Srinagar is a busy site, as Kashmiri labourers put finishing touches to its renovation. The heritage church that was abandoned for over five decades will reopen its doors for prayers on Christmas day. It is being repaired as part of the government of Jammu and Kashmir’s “Preservation and Maintenance of Architecture and Heritage” program.
