National movement protest in Krakow, Poland by Vito Corleone / SOPA Images
Earlier this year Poland imposed a state of emergency on the border with Belarus as for some time foreigners, including citizens of Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Yemen as well as African countries, have been reaching Poland at various points on its border with Belarus. People are refused to seek refuge and cross the border which led to deaths, including those of children. The situation on the Polish-Belarusian boarder has polarized Poles as some people oppose the treatment of the refugees that gathered on the grounds between the two countries, while others support the government decision of protecting the borders. The National Movement, a conservative, Eurosceptic, nationalistic Polish group organized a demonstration showing support for the Polish army and its actions on the border. At the same time, another manifestation took place against the government's decisions and indifference towards the difficult situation of the refugees.
