October 17th, Amsterdam. Last year, the marathon was canceled due to the coronavirus, but with 31,000 registrations for the 2021 edition, the event proves to have great resilience. This year the start times of all running distances have been brought forward, in an attempt to spread the runners as much as possible over the course. The TCS Amsterdam Marathon is known as one of the world's largest and fastest marathons. The 30-year-old Ethiopian Tamirat Tola won in a time of 2 hours, 3 minutes and 39 seconds beating the course record. The women's course record was also broken. Kenyan Angela Tanui ran in a time of 2:17:57.
