Numerous and massive protests broke out in Hong Kong in 2019, as the extradition bill raising serious concerns as Hong Kong authorities can pass non-sentence defendant back to China, this was known as one of the biggest civil outcries after the handover of Hong Kong to China in 1997. Protests soon escalated from peaceful demonstrations into violent clashes with the police in July. Thousands arrested, injured and now-behind-bars, as the main wave of clashes come to an end in November during the sieges in Universities. June 2020, authorities passed the National Security Law to eliminate any possible unrest in this semi-autonomous city.
