The biologist-turned-surfer Merijn Tinga, better known as Plastic Soup Surfer builds boards made out of plastic waste and uses them for expeditions that highlight global issues around plastic pollution. From the first of September until today he has been on his surfboard made from plastic waste, paddling around 300km, from Den Ham to The Hague, to draw attention to the separation of waste in educational institutions. After arriving at The Hague, he met with the secretaries of state and second members of the parliament.
