To end its Spring Rebellion campaign, the climate group Extinction Rebellion organized a civil disobedience action to let the government know that they can no longer ignore the climate and ecological crisis. The first activists tried to enter in the Binnenhof, where the House of Representatives meets and where the Prime Minister works, but the police were able to prevent that. After that, they blocked the Korte Vijverberg, a road that leads to the Binnenhof. The gate to the Binnenhof was subsequently closed by the police. Police officers asked the group to move on but after they refused, more than 80 activists were arrested.
