To symbolize the slow-moving towards net-zero emissions, Extinction Rebellion organizes a Climate-Snail Race in front of the House of the Parliament. In order to meet the 1.5°C global warming target in the Paris Agreement, global carbon emissions should reach net-zero around mid-century. The climate snails represent the government and big polluters who according to XR should be moving faster to the net-zero emission goal.
