The 33rd anniversary of the chemical attack carried out by the Iraqi government on March 16, 1988 on the city of Halabja in the Kurdistan Region, which killed nearly 5000 people and injured 10000 most of them civilians. Thousands of the city's residents died in the year following the attack due to health complications and due to diseases and birth defects.
