Oman has a long and rich maritime history and the port city of Sur continues the legacy. The Arabian Dhow is a traditional wooden sailing ship that is hand crafted by artisans using century’s old techniques. Made to order the boats are more likely to be employed in the tourism sector than that of the seafaring trade that gave the port its prominence.
