On February 18, 1945, a German Flying bomb (V1) fell on the corner of the Biezenstraat with Waterstraat in the Nijmegen neighborhood ‘het Waterkwartier’ at 5.28 am. This includes four fatalities and many wounded, both civilians and billeted British soldiers. Since then, a memorial has been held every year for the victims and every 5 years a large, official memorial takes place. The plaque has been adopted by the Aquamarijn childcare center, pupils in group 8 are involved in the commemoration every year. This year, it's also 75 years ago that this disaster took place in the city of Nijmegen.
