Indigenous Yuggera and Turrbal people organized a rally in Brisbane (Meanjin in the indigenous language) to protest the Australia Day holiday on the 26th January, a date seen as synonymous with the beginning of British colonial rule and oppression of Aboriginal people. They called for a change to the date and discussed themes such as fighting against racial injustice and remembrance of the Stolen Generations and Aboriginal sovereignty.
