Hanga Roa is the capital of Easter Island, a Chilean island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean. The village has around 5,000 inhabitants, which comprises between 87 and 90 percent of the total population of the island. Excluding a small percentage still engaged in traditional fishing and small-scale farming, the majority of the population is engaged in tourism which is the main source of income.
