Thousands of paratroopers landed in Groesbeek, Netherlands by Ana Fernandez / SOPA Images
In September it's exactly 75 years ago that paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division landed in Groesbeek as part of the Operation Market Garden. More than 1,000 paratroopers are expected to recreate the landing in Groesbeek. For these jumps, the 'Parachute Group Holland’ hired two original C-47 Dakotas from England. One of these Dakotas is called Drag 'em Out, made several flights during the Second World War at the invasion of Europe over France and Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands. In addition to the permanent members from The Netherlands, members from England, Poland, the Czech Republic, Canada, and the United States also participated.
