Workers from United Auto Workers Local 440 picket at an entrance General Motors' Bedford Powertrain factory during the first day of a national labor strike against GM. The strike involving over 49,000 workers nationwide began at midnight. Over 700 work at the Bedford plant. The United Auto Worker union is leading it's first nationwide strike against General Motors (GM) since 1982, seeking to fight for jobs and more benefits which will cost the company dearly for an indefinite period of time.
