The Sacred Valley of the Incas, or the Urubamba Valley, is in the Andes of Peru. It was a crucial area for the Inca Empire and it functioned as both an agricultural, spiritual and political center for them. Nowadays, many communities live in this valley. Most of them are situated in rural and isolated areas.
