Extinction Rebellion march to Parliament, London by Andres Pantoja / SOPA Images
Extinction Rebellion protesters march from Marble Arch to Parliament Square, attempting to deliver letters to their MPs. Extinction Rebellion activists were permitted to be in Parliament Square but not to enter Parliament. After several attempts to deliver the letters, the activists reached an agreement with MPs through the police. Ten activists were allowed to deliver the letters in the company of Baroness Jenny Jones (Green party). Philosopher and Green campaigner Rupert Reed, Labour Shadow minister Clive Lewis and Labour MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle spoke to protesters. Extinction Rebellion demands from the government direct action on the climate, reduce carbon emissions to zero by 2025 and a peoples assembly.
