CJP (Cockroach Janta Party), which represents India’s Gen Z, organised the protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in voter-list revisions. The protesters demanded his resignation. Almost all Indian opposition parties participated in the protest. The demonstration was planned to be held at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Delhi Police denied permission, citing public safety and law-and-order concerns. On Saturday, police detained protesters and several political leaders as security was tightened across parts of the capital.
