Several left-wing rallies and marches were held in Leipzig on Saturday, bringing together groups with sharply opposing views on Israel and Palestine. The main pro-Palestinian march under the slogan “Antifa means: Free Palestine” drew about 1,400 participants and moved toward the city center, while pro-Israeli and anti-antisemitism counter-demonstrations took place nearby. Authorities reported more than 3,000 participants across eight registered events. Police deployed a large operation to keep rival groups separated and described the overall situation as largely peaceful, despite isolated incidents and brief detentions.
