Protestors demanded the closure of the complex because of an increasing presence of dioxide and hydrochloric acid, and fine dust spread by the wind, which may be related to the rising death toll from cancer and tumors, especially in Taranto’s Tamburi district.
The event was promoted by the Permanent Assembly for Taranto including several local organizations and students union.
