Metro Tunnel has officially opened with trains running through the new underground line from 30 November 2025. The project includes five new stations Arden, Parkville, State Library, Town Hall and Anzac connecting key areas of the city and integrating with existing train lines. The Metro Tunnel aims to increase train capacity, reduce congestion and improve service reliability for the growing population. State Library Station, where these photos are taken provides direct access to the central business district and surrounding precincts.
