A car explosion near Red Fort killed at least nine people and injured dozens, Indian officials said. Police named Dr Mohammad Umar as the prime suspect seen inside the Hyundai i20 that exploded near the 17th-century monument. The explosion occurred hours after Indian police revealed they had arrested a Kashmiri doctor Muzammil Shakeel from Faridabad also in Haryana on charges of plotting a “terrorist” attack. However, Indian authorities have so far not confirmed any link between the arrested doctor and the explosion on Monday.
