On the afternoon of the 28th August, two activists from Ostatnie Pokolenie (the Last Generation) doused the glass facade of the Zlote Tarasy shopping mall in orange to protest the inaction of leaders to work towards solving the climate emergency. The organisation believes that changing weather patterns, crop losses and the collapse of food supply chains, will lead to billions of refugees and wars for resources in the coming years. As the new school year approaches, the organisation is asking the question, "What will we tell our children?" The activists have announced that this is just the beginning and plan a number of roadblocks in the centre of Warsaw. "People must demand change" they state, "otherwise the government will continue to disregard our basic safety."
