Tonight, the cabinet is expected to announce a relaxation of the coronavirus rules for higher education, retail, contact professions, and sports. In the meantime, the cultural and catering industries will have to wait a bit longer. The Hague sources report that the cabinet has reached an agreement on this. The shops may remain open until 5 p.m. There are still restrictions on the maximum number of visitors per square meter. The hard lockdown is set to end on Saturday, January 15, and due to the advice of the OMT (Outbreak Management Team), university and MBO students may get the chance for physical lessons again. The pressure to let go of the hard lockdown became immense after rare fierce criticism from entrepreneurs and local authorities in recent days.
