July 11th or 'Eleventh Night' sees a night of bonfires which are lit at midnight around the North of Ireland to celebrate the turning of July 12th. This year marks the centenary of the formation of Northern Ireland and is also the first permitted Orange marches since the beginning of the pandemic. The marching season has fallen during a tense period when Brexit protocols are causing political debate and community divide threatening a return to a volatility not seen since the times of ‘the Troubles’.
