NASA’s fifth robotic rover named Perseverance landed on Mars on February 18, 2021. The most technologically advanced rover will perform a variety of tasks over the next two years in order to collect samples from the Mars. The robot fuelled by lithium-ion batteries which are powered by plutonium will use a variety of tools, including a robotic arm, drill, cameras, chemical analyser and a first ever helicopter named Ingenuity. Whole samples will be stored on board of the robot which will be brought back to earth during the future missions to Mars.
