Amphan made landfall on West Bengal near the Sundarbans between Digha and Hatiya on 20 May, with wind gusts along coastal areas measured at 150–160 km/hr. Cyclone Amphan, one of the strongest storms in recent memory to churn through the Bay of Bengal killing more that 80 people and leaving the entire state devastated.
