Due to the large amount of patients infected with the COVID-19 coronavirus, the intensive care unit beds are in shortage in the Netherlands. Germany has agreed to help by accepting patients to receive treatments in hospitals in Germany. The Lifeliner 5 ambulance helicopter has been assigned to transport CCOVID-19 patients to German hospitals from the Netherlands. There are currently more than 20,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 which has already caused over 2,200 deaths.
