With the mounting cases of COVID-19, the call centers around the city have seen a 50 percent rise in 911 calls overwhelming the Emergency Services Technicians personnel. Consequently, FEMA has sent 250 ambulances and 500 EMT personnel to New York. Additionally, while there are no exact numbers of personal protective equipment (PPE) FEMA has sent to hospitals, shortages continue.
