Restrictions on movement of vehicles were imposed protectives in some parts of Srinagar as Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), a separatist group in the Valley called for a strike to observe the death anniversaries of Afzal Guru and JKLF founder Maqbool Bhat. Afzal Guru was a Kashmiri who was convicted and given a death sentence for his role in the 2001 attack on Indian Parliament. JKLF's call for a strike is the first by any separatist group since August 5, 2019, when the BJP-led Central government revoked Article 370 of the constitution. Meanwhile internet services were also snapped in Kashmir valley.
