Protesters called for a day of strike and commuters faced chaos and delays across Hong Kong for the second consecutive day as anti-government protesters blocked roads, train rails and subway accesses on a call for strike. Unrest broke out at three universities and many schools and businesses were closed. Violence returned in a response to police actions on Monday when at least two protesters were shot and many others wounded.
