Activists and political groups arrive at the China Liaison Office in Hong Kong to protest the crackdown on human rights lawyers in China. In 2015, over 200 lawyers and dissidents were detained nationwide, known as the "709" crackdown, on those who have taken civil rights cases considered sensitive by the Chinese authoroties. Wang Quanzhang, one of the detained lawyers charged in January 2016 with alleged "subversion of state power", is set to go on trial today in Tianjin, making him the only one of the over 200 lawyers that has yet been tried or released.
